Here are some of the books my girls have been reading in place of textbooks.As you can see,most of the books are actually by National Geographic and I think they are wonderful.We got them all from our library.I know I usually find great books by looking at other homeschool blogs so if you have posted some books that your children read,please leave a link to your blog in the comments section,thanks!

All of these books look very interesting. To answer your question from my blog. I liked the Free Range Learning Book but didn't really learn anything new. If you have been homeschooling for a while and read other books about unschooling/child led learning, then you have probably heard it all. Our library didn't have it either but we got through inter library loan. I personally wouldn't buy the book but you might feel differently.
